About The Position
LINK Media is seeking Sports Contributors for a contract, part-time engagement to cover high school sports news. As a startup, all contributors are vital to the team and must be willing to work quickly, adapt to an evolving environment, remain flexible, and understand the collective importance of the mission.
Requirements
- Experience or education as sports reporter
- Strong writing and speaking skills
- Multimedia knowledge (websites, photo, audio, video editing)
- Strong journalistic integrity and creativity
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned stories and enterprise/pitch additional stories in your areas of interest
- Publish digital and multimedia reports and creative stories
- Accept assignments and follow up on news tips
- Maintain notes and audio recordings from stories/sources for review when necessary
- Work in collaboration with managing editor and chief content officer
