About The Position

Dexis is seeking a Data Collector to support a large-scale Army test and evaluation program. The project provides data collection, technical writing, computer operations, range scheduling, and administrative support services necessary to execute the government’s test mission. Support encompasses testing of a wide variety of automotive, combat, electronic, general equipment, and ordnance materiel, with services including data collection and coordination, data compilation and processing, development and management of data collection forms, test monitoring, technical writing and editorial review, reporting, data and software administration, range scheduling, and related operational support. The Data Collector is an entry-level position that develops practical knowledge of the equipment, procedures, and tools used in the data collection process through classroom and on-the-job training. The role assists with routine test projects by observing equipment and test instruments, recording and compiling test data, performing basic computations, and capturing image data. Work will be performed primarily onsite in Aberdeen, Maryland, with travel to other locations within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) as required by mission needs. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of experience using a computer and Microsoft software; OR successful completion of two (2) accredited computer classes.
  • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher in each individual discipline of math and science and a GPA of 3.0 or higher in high school English or a GPA of 2.5 or higher in college English from an accredited high school or university.
  • Must possess a high school diploma.
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned functions, which may include working in extreme heat or cold, high humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, at heights, and walking distances over unimproved terrain while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be available to support work outside normal duty hours when required by mission needs.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within CONUS and OCONUS as required.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire practical knowledge of the characteristics, properties, and uses of equipment necessary to carry out the data collection process through formal and informal classroom and on-the-job training.
  • Become familiar with detailed data collection procedures that are established or repetitive.
  • Assist with visually examining equipment or test items for flaws or defects on routine projects.
  • Observe equipment operation to detect apparent malfunctions.
  • Observe simple test instruments and controls during tests and record related test data.
  • Download test data from onboard instrumentation.
  • Perform specified arithmetic computations.
  • Extract and compile specified data, including detailed narrative information, from records and other sources such as specifications and drawings.
  • Capture image data in support of test activities.
  • Perform job functions at sites other than Aberdeen as required.
