About The Position

Dexis is seeking a Data Collector V to support a large-scale Army test and evaluation program. The project provides data collection, technical writing, computer operations, range scheduling, and administrative support services necessary to execute the government’s test mission. Support encompasses testing of a wide variety of automotive, combat, electronic, general equipment, and ordnance materiel, with services including data collection and coordination, data compilation and processing, development and management of data collection forms, test monitoring, technical writing and editorial review, reporting, data and software administration, range scheduling, and related operational support. The Data Collector V provides technical oversight and guidance to personnel collecting data across a variety of test programs, including highly complex programs. The role monitors workload and data quality, trains personnel, identifies data collection problems, coordinates support for test activities, and uses data management and reporting systems to help ensure test data meet project requirements. Work will be performed primarily onsite in Aberdeen, Maryland, with travel to other locations within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) as required by mission needs. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical area and two (2) years of experience performing data collection involving military or nonmilitary equipment and associated maintenance concepts; OR an Associate’s degree in a technical area and four (4) years of experience performing data collection involving military or nonmilitary equipment and associated maintenance concepts; OR six (6) years of experience performing data collection involving military or nonmilitary equipment and associated maintenance concepts.
  • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher in each individual discipline of math and science and a GPA of 3.0 or higher in high school English or a GPA of 2.5 or higher in college English from an accredited high school or university.
  • Must possess a high school diploma.
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned functions, which may include working in extreme heat or cold, high humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, at heights, and walking distances over unimproved terrain while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be available to support work outside normal duty hours when required by mission needs.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within CONUS and OCONUS as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight to employees assigned to collect data on a variety of test programs, including highly complex programs.
  • Provide technical guidance, assistance, and on-the-job training and closely monitor workload.
  • Review work in progress and review and initial completed work for quality assurance, completeness, and accuracy on a daily basis.
  • Train employees on specific tasks and job techniques and provide applicable written instructions, reference materials, and supplies.
  • Maintain current files, supplies, manuals, and electronic data forms for assigned test projects.
  • Recognize basic problems in data collection techniques and recommend solutions.
  • Determine and ensure test data meet project requirements related to technical manual evaluation, identification and description of potential critical problems, adequacy of repair parts, tools and support equipment, and design for maintainability.
  • Support government test directors, engineers, and analysts by coordinating required data collection support and performing field work, as required.
  • Assist government Data Quality personnel, as required.
  • Use web-enabled data management systems such as ODIN and VDLS.
  • Use application tools such as Cognos, as required, to query databases and produce reports based on user requirements.
  • Perform job functions at sites other than Aberdeen as required.
