Data Collection Team Lead
About The Position
We’re looking for a Data Collections Team Lead to help lead and support our growing field operations team across Canada and the United States. In this role, you’ll oversee day-to-day field collection activities, coordinate crews and project logistics, support operational planning, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. You’ll work closely with Operations, GIS, Processing, and Technical teams in a fast-paced environment where organization, leadership, and adaptability are key. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys leading teams, solving operational challenges, and working in a technology-driven field environment.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in team leadership, operations, logistics, or field coordination
- Experience managing teams in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Comfortable working in dynamic environments with evolving operational needs
- Strong leadership skills with a collaborative and hands-on approach
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational tracking tools
Nice To Haves
- Experience in GIS, surveying, mobile mapping, or transportation infrastructure
- Experience managing field crews, drivers, or technicians
- Familiarity with LiDAR, roadway surveying, or smart city technologies
Responsibilities
- Lead and support Field Technicians and Data Collection Operators across multiple active projects
- Coordinate field schedules, staffing, travel logistics, and operational readiness
- Monitor project progress, workload, and team capacity to ensure successful delivery
- Collaborate with GIS, Processing, QA/QC, and Operations teams to maintain workflow continuity
- Assist with troubleshooting field and operational issues during active collection projects
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and training of new team members
- Help develop operational procedures, workflows, and best practices
- Track operational KPIs, reporting metrics, and project status updates
- Oversee fleet coordination, equipment readiness, and maintenance scheduling
- Contribute to process improvements that increase operational efficiency and data quality
