About The Position

Prime Connected is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician to support a dedicated customer in the Omaha area. This is a local, hands-on role focused on a single customer site, involving service tickets, installations, equipment changes, and daily infrastructure maintenance within an active data center. The ideal candidate will be a confident troubleshooter, adaptable to challenges, and capable of finding creative solutions while adhering to data center standards.

Requirements

2+ years of hands-on experience in data centers, low-voltage cabling, network infrastructure, or a related field.
Comfort working independently and managing incoming tickets.
Professional communication skills with customers.
Experience with category cable, fiber, rack-and-stack, and equipment installations.
Familiarity with network switches and structured cabling systems.
Ability to test, troubleshoot, and identify the source of technical issues.
Familiarity with Fluke Network Testing.
Strong attention to detail, especially with labeling and documentation.
Ability to think outside the box and adapt to changing conditions.
Dependable, customer-focused approach.
Ability to lift and position equipment and work on ladders.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass required criminal and financial background screenings.

Responsibilities

Respond to assigned service tickets and complete data center installation and support tasks.
Pull, route, terminate, and test category cable.
Install and replace network switches.
Perform rack-and-stack for network and server equipment.
Install equipment, cabling, and supporting infrastructure.
Work with pre-terminated fiber and perform fiber testing.
Troubleshoot connectivity, cabling, and equipment issues.
Maintain accurate ticket notes and document completed work.
Label and organize cabling according to customer standards.
Identify challenges and develop practical, creative solutions.
Coordinate with the customer and internal team for safe and efficient work completion.
