Data Center Technician (Relocation Assistance Available)
About The Position
The Data Center Technician is responsible for the reliable operation, maintenance, and optimization of mission-critical data center infrastructure. This role serves as a technical authority on shift, leading operational execution, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring adherence to safety, change management, and operational excellence standards. The Data Center Technician plays a key role in protecting critical load, reducing operational risk, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. THIS ROLE WILL BE BASED ON-SITE IN COVINGTON, GA. We will offer relocation assistance to all candidates who meet the requirements and are willing to move.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 2+ years experience working in a Data Center with proven success in delivering customer requirements in a critical technology environment
- Evidence of self-management and alignment with ever-changing priorities
- Good written and oral communication skills, tenacity, and working to a high level of accuracy
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all MEP plant and distribution infrastructure is operated and maintained in a safe manner, to best industry practice and within manufacturers recommendations.
- Monitor power and environmental conditions within all critical spaces within the facility.
- Perform assigned maintenance tasks in accordance with SF practices utilizing the internal CMMS.
- Assist with planning and scheduling corrective maintenance activities
- Escort and support outside contractors, ensuring they are abiding SF work rules and processes
- Respond to site incidents, execute appropriate MOP/EOP documentation to resolve and/or mitigate issues and communicate to manage throughout event.
- Support and follow all SF Change Control policies and procedures.
- Perform site rounds and report any issues found to site management.
- Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed by site management
- Adhere to all local, state and federal safety laws and requirements
- Complete other duties as assigned by the management team
- Participate in and support MOP/SOP/EOP documentation process for site.
- Participate in and support the development of site policies and standards
- Work with site team members to deliver 100% uptime of critical infrastructure
