About The Position

Truck Centers, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Parts Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the Parts department. This role involves fostering a culture of exceptional service, knowledge, resourcefulness, and personal responsibility among the team. The Parts Manager will lead sales and warehousing teams in a fast-paced heavy-duty truck parts operation, ensuring efficient parts delivery to other departments and managing various aspects of inventory and vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of management experience in parts sales or related trucking industry experience
  • Thorough knowledge of computer inventory control systems
  • Demonstrated customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organization skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple projects seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and a solution-focused outlook
  • Resourceful, collaborative team leader
  • Strong personal conviction of producing quality work, being an integrated team player, and commitment to company values
  • Valid driver's license with ability to meet insurance requirements
  • Willingness to participate in a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Parts department.
  • Foster a culture of exceptional service, knowledge, resourcefulness, and personal responsibility.
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate the Parts team, and support their career development.
  • Manage the department schedule, operating budget, performance evaluations, corrective action plans, performance improvement plans, and inventory reports.
  • Lead the sales and warehousing teams in a fast-paced heavy-duty truck parts operation.
  • Collaborate with other department managers to ensure timely parts delivery for internal jobs.
  • Track P&L statements, performance metrics, and cycle counts.
  • Supervise periodic and annual inventory counts.
  • Recommend and enforce pricing strategy based on company goals, purchasing power, volume, and customer loyalty.
  • Manage invoicing accuracy, inventory levels, cores, warranty recovery, and obsolescence.
  • Approve departmental purchase orders and schedule expenditures with a lean management approach.
  • Build relationships with vendors and customers to grow market share, including hosting appreciation events.
  • Follow up with customers on order status, estimates, and routine sales calls.
  • Identify opportunities for departmental efficiency improvements, waste reduction, and goal forecasting.
  • Stay updated on company, DTNA, and OEM bulletins regarding new parts, product lines, recalls, failures, and industry trends, and train the team on process/policy changes.
  • Ensure the department complies with federal, state, and local environmental and safety requirements.
