About The Position

Salute is seeking a Data Center Security Officer to support security operations at an assigned data center site. The officer conducts unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols inside or outside the facility, controls access and egress, monitors closed-circuit television and alarm systems, prepares reports, deters criminal activity and misconduct, and performs other duties specified in post orders. Officers are trained to work all posts at their assigned site and must be available to work all shifts.

The role includes patrolling facility grounds, managing gate access and traffic flow, maintaining access logs, monitoring cameras after normal working hours, notifying DPR personnel of issues, and observing and reporting suspicious activity. Officers help maintain awareness of potential security and safety concerns, enforce site rules, monitor entrances and exits, and help protect company property from unauthorized removal.

The position requires physical activity, including prolonged standing, carrying equipment, climbing stairs and ladders, and responding quickly to issues or emergencies. Work may take place indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, weather, and noise levels. The stated base salary is $21.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Customer service experience.
• Team player with a helpful disposition.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a background check and 10-panel drug screen; the employer has a zero-tolerance drug policy.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment.
• Ability to stand for long periods in varied work environments.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment-related tasks.
• Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergencies and navigate areas quickly.
• Ability to move quickly and efficiently through work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
• Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors.
• Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform detailed and precise tasks while wearing safety glasses.
• Ability to distinguish color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables.
• Ability to work indoors in a wide variety of facility temperatures and outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow.
• Ability to work in elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection.
• Valid driver's license for work-related travel.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the exterior grounds of the facility.
• Provide access control at gates and ensure only authorized personnel are permitted to enter.
• Manage traffic flow at gates to avoid disruption to business operations.
• Maintain access logs.
• Monitor cameras after normal working hours.
• Notify DPR personnel of issues.
• Observe and report suspicious activity.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and identify conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Communicate and promote awareness of security policies and issues as needed.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Control and direct traffic.
• Conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols; monitor CCTV and alarm systems; compose reports; deter criminal activity and misconduct; and perform duties specified in post orders.
• Work all posts at the assigned site location and be available to work all shifts.
