In alignment with Microsoft values, this role focuses on reducing stranded capacity by optimizing space, power, cooling, and network resources within data centers. As a key member of the local Datacenter Operations team, you will be involved in the deployment planning and optimization of IT capacity, working closely with Electrical Engineers and Critical Environment Field Service Engineers. Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) powers Microsoft's cloud services, and as an Energy Resource Manager (ERM), you will contribute to the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for services like Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure. By improving Infrastructure Utilization Effectiveness (IUE) and Power Harvesting (PH), you will lead efforts to upgrade legacy data centers and optimize capacity in the existing fleet.
