About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The Infrastructure Physical Security Team is looking for a Data Center Security Specialist with experience working in critical infrastructure installations, ideally data centers. As a Data Center Security Specialist, you will be tasked with driving operational security excellence in a control room setting. You will provide support to on-site security and other customers by completing remote security tasks via a chat/phone system. Your vigilance will drive a culture of quality, support, and proactive identification of physical security vulnerabilities for remediation. You will interface directly with customers from across the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico. You will extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at available data. You will write and implement security procedures and directives, reports, develop presentations, and advise leadership on the status of physical security operations. The ideal candidate will be open to working non-traditional hours to support a 24x7 security operation.

Requirements

Experience with various Access/Intrusion control Systems in a Control room environment
6+ months' experience in security roles, preferably in a data center or similar environment.
Additional education or training in security-related fields is a plus.
US Citizenship or equivalent status (for GovCloud region)

Nice To Haves

Experience in a leadership role
College Degree (Bachelors) or Background in one or more of: Military (Career/Military Police/Military Special Operations Forces), Law Enforcement with Arrest Authority (Police Academy Graduate), TSA Security Screening, Correctional Facility Officer
2+ years Security experience or equivalent (demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education)

Responsibilities

Support daily operations of Data Centers/ Colo environments by completing remote security task involving security systems and access control
Drive security awareness campaigns aimed at enhancing security vigilance and effectiveness
Experience with workflow ticketing and extraction development of performance metrics
Lead security investigations across campus facilities
As this is a GovCloud region, the selected candidate requires US Citizenship or equivalent status
May be tasked with working different work shifts consisting of Day, Mid or Evening/Overnight shifts.
