Data Center Field Tech (HE LLC)
About The Position
Hanley Energy USA is seeking a Data Center Field Technician to provide project support to the VP of Engineering and represent the company at customer data centers. The technician will work with customers to identify needs and gather requirements, and will install and maintain Energy Management Systems, switchgear, UPS, electrical, and power generation equipment. The role includes responding hands-on to equipment operation and troubleshooting needs at customer sites and supporting the physical infrastructure of data centers that house mission-critical IT servers, data, and equipment. Prior data center training and experience are strongly preferred.
Requirements
- Technical training, such as military or trade school training, and/or relevant experience.
- Experience working in a data center or critical environment.
- At least 2 years of relevant electrical and/or mechanical work experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid leadership and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail, high energy, and ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Prior training and experience working within data centers.
Responsibilities
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Perform limited maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot facility- and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
- Follow all safety procedures while performing work.
- Take operational readings of equipment.
- Use CMMS to manage building workflows.
- Meet with customers to identify data center building needs and gather requirements.
- Complete administrative work, including data entry in Excel and writing work authorizations and work orders.
- Maintain facility power and cooling and ensure clean rooms for the critical environment.
