The Data Center Facilities Technician provides a working level of data center knowledge and is responsible for the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the data center electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire life safety systems. The Data Center Facilities Technician maintains and follows the processes that maximize customer uptime in the most cost-effective way. Ensures that data center problems are identified and repaired quickly, that contractors deliver quality services, and that internal customer demands are met. Level I and II, will possess basic and working knowledge respectively, whereas Level III will possess expert knowledge. Primary Duties within varied scope of work and client expectations will range from: Develops creative approaches to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and implements new strategies for Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Life Safety systems Tests performance of electromechanical assemblies and electronic volt meters Reads blueprints, schematics, diagrams or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of processes Inspects equipment for defects, leaks, and potential issues Installs electrical/electronic parts and hardware in housings/assemblies with hand tools Aligns, fits or assembles component parts using hand/power tools Operates, monitors, maintains, and responds to abnormal conditions in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Life Safety, Security Systems, Building Monitoring Systems, and Control systems Analyze systems to ensure best practice for internal/external customers Provides feedback on effectiveness of existing standards and processes Works with contractors and consultants to review quality assurance for all system expansions, corrections, and upgrades Collaborates on the tracking and completing aggressive preventive and predictive maintenance programs Collaborates on determining maintenance requirements for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety systems, and security systems Provide smart/remote hands assistance within specified SLA Moves/Adds/Changes hardware install including labeling, power connectivity, and network cable connectivity Additional Accountabilities: 100% completion of documentation, notification, escalation, tracking and follow up of all incidents and requests 100% accurate and timely submission of timesheet documentation in Field Service 100% fulfillment of contractual expectations as defined by Client SOW specific to scheduled service delivery and revenue expectations 100% completion of required Talent LMS based training courses as assigned 100% adherence to Salute Mission Critical safety standards and best practices 100% adherence to client security/privacy practices and expectations Level III Additional Accountabilities: Tracking and trending MEP system and equipment operational characteristics Collaborates with fit-outs, system expansions, corrections, upgrades, and equipment commissioning Collaborates with tracking annual budgets Relays the status of planned maintenance programs Required to attend certain high-level meetings and take notes and action items accordingly Serve in a technical writing capacity regarding the creation, review, and approval of procedures for operations, preventive/corrective maintenance activities, and EOPs
