As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT), you will maintain and operate the critical infrastructure systems that keep AWS's cloud running. Working in some of the most sophisticated and secure data centers in the world, you will be hands-on with electrical, mechanical, and life safety equipment—ensuring the 99.999% uptime that millions of customers rely on. In this role, you will troubleshoot mission-critical systems including diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, UPS units, chillers, and cooling towers. You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to facility events, and collaborate with engineers from around the globe to test and implement emerging technologies that meet the demands of a rapidly evolving cloud computing landscape. This is a technical, hands-on role where your work directly impacts the reliability of AWS services—from startups to Global 500 companies. We have a passion for learning and evolving, and we're looking for people who want to help us continue setting the industry standard. This role supports data centers in various operational stages. The position may be assigned to a facility still under development, which could require travel to established locations for training until your designated site becomes fully operational. Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and satisfy other security related requirements. This position requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
