Infrastructure Services is part of IS&T and the foundation of Apple's global network operations — managing data center equipment and systems to deliver compute, storage, and networking services for teams across Apple, including its internal developer community. From individual facilities to a worldwide network, Infrastructure Services ensures the technology underneath everything works without question. The Data Center Technician is responsible for installing servicing and maintaining Apple IT Infrastructure in a 24/7 environment with rapidly shifting priorities while maintaining high availability of the infrastructure. Strong attention to detail and effective documentation skills are critical components of success in this position. Apple Data Center Technicians provides direct hands-on support of Data Center IT Infrastructure and internal system components. We require technicians with experience working in collaborative partnerships and have strong communication skills. Requirements

• Experience in roles that include hands on technical support, help desk, logistics or technical training in computer engineering or a related IT field.
• Ability to safely work at heights using step ladders, podium platforms, and people lifts, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Ability to safely use hand-held tools such as electric drills, safety cutters, fiber testing kits, etc.
• Ability to work extended shifts within a data center environment, withstanding heat levels ranging from 79°F to upwards of 105°F while maintaining appropriate hydration.
• Able to participate in rotational on-call duties, providing after-hours support in a 24/7 operational environment as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and effective documentation skills are critical components of success in this position.
• Experience working in collaborative partnerships and strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 1 year experience directly supporting IT hardware Infrastructure and working inside of production data center environment.
• Technical certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+
• Experience using and/or supporting computer operating systems.
• Familiar with productivity applications such as workflow systems, collaboration, email, and scheduling tools.
• Ability to travel to foreign and domestic locations.

Responsibilities

• Installing, servicing, and maintaining Apple IT Infrastructure in a 24/7 environment with rapidly shifting priorities while maintaining high availability of the infrastructure.
• Provides direct hands-on support of Data Center IT Infrastructure and internal system components.
• Performing network connectivity tasks, hardware component swaps, or installing hardware infrastructure.
