About The Position

Technical Diagnostic Services (TDS), a TechPro Power Group company, is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Commissioning Field Service Technician to support a large Data Center project in the Atlanta, GA area. TDS has over 25 years of experience providing industry-leading service solutions for the safe start-up and optimization of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems in facilities. The company serves markets such as Power Generation, Oil & Gas/ Petrochemical, and Heavy Process.

Requirements

  • Expertise in switchgear maintenance, troubleshooting, and breaker installation.
  • Strong electrical aptitude, understanding of power systems and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of LDL, L2, L3 inspections and testing procedures.
  • Proficiency in secondary injection testing of breakers and PT/CT wiring installations.
  • Familiarity with bus installations, meter configurations, and control wiring.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with testing and maintenance tools (multimeters, megohmmeters, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and providing technical support.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in switchgear installation, testing, and maintenance, preferably in industrial, utility, and/ or data center environments.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific electrical code, regulations, and related safety standards/ protocols (OSHA, NFPA 70E).
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Performing the necessary Acceptance Testing for electrical equipment within Data Center Facilities.
  • Safely use hand and power tools, metering & testing equipment, and precision instruments.
  • Collaborate with internal team members & customers/ end-users to complete projects within defined timelines.
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Daily reporting and documentation of work performed.
  • Travel to various project sites within the U.S.
