About The Position

Apple is seeking an analytical resource with data center experience to join the Data Center Capacity Planning Strategy and Initiatives team. This team is responsible for providing centralized insight into data center physical infrastructure demand/supply, capacity readiness, and identifying opportunities for future Data Center builds. This role is specifically focused on the Remote Data Center space and will assist in managing Apple's leased data centers globally. The position involves critical data analysis and the creation of metrics and benchmarks to advance capacity planning. This role acts as a strategic link between data center engineering, cloud platforms, and data center operations, ensuring the organization has a clear, forward-looking view of infrastructure capacity needs and risks. As capacity planning increasingly relies on automation and AI-driven analytics, this role will concentrate on governance, strategic interpretation of capacity insights, and cross-organizational alignment. The individual will help guide capacity planning practices across teams, translate infrastructure demand into actionable investment priorities, and ensure physical data center infrastructure supports company growth.

Requirements

• BS/MS in a related discipline or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
• Experience in data center colocation operations and management, infrastructure operations, cloud platforms, capacity planning, or engineering program leadership.
• Experience coordinating cross-team planning initiatives in complex infrastructure environments.
• Ability to translate infrastructure data and analytics into strategic insights for senior leadership.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• 3-5+ years of experience in infrastructure operations, cloud platforms, capacity planning, or engineering program leadership.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML, compute infrastructure, cloud platforms, and large-scale distributed systems.
• Understanding of hybrid infrastructure environments spanning data center and cloud platforms.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, capacity governance, or infrastructure strategy functions.
• Experience working with infrastructure telemetry, observability platforms, or capacity analytics tools.
• Exposure to AI-driven analytics or automated infrastructure planning systems.

Responsibilities

• Build analysis to provide a holistic view of infrastructure demand, capacity outlook, and long-term scaling considerations across physical infrastructure.
• Consolidate and interpret infrastructure capacity insights from engineering and platform teams to inform leadership on data center capacity readiness, growth projections, and potential constraints.
• Oversee planning and coordination for physical data center infrastructure, ensuring data center physical capacity readiness aligns with infrastructure growth and platform needs.
• Identify and communicate infrastructure capacity risks and readiness gaps, enabling proactive mitigation and supporting reliable data center scaling.
• Establish and track performance metrics for capacity planning, promoting consistent planning practices and operational discipline across teams.
• Drive the adoption of automation and AI-driven analytics in data center capacity planning, ensuring the organization leverages advanced insights while maintaining strategic oversight.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration and team development, partnering with engineering, cloud, data center, finance, and supply chain teams to align infrastructure capacity planning with business priorities.
• Develop and lead data center strategy development initiatives to solidify Apple’s long-term data center strategy.
