About The Position

This role is for a Data Cabling Installation Lead. The individual must be fully competent in Level Two roles and responsibilities. The primary responsibility is the overall completion of each assigned project, ensuring adherence to NNSI safety, quality, and productivity standards. Effective documentation and verbal communication with subordinates, peers, and supervisors are essential. This role also involves mentoring and coaching Level One and Two cable installers to enhance their skill sets and assigning daily work tasks.

Requirements

Fully competent in Level Two roles and responsibilities.
Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project, and Acrobat.
Ability to document and verbally communicate well with subordinates, peers, and supervisors.
Mentoring and coaching skills for level one and two cable installers.
Ability to assign daily work tasks.

Responsibilities

Proficient in copper and fiber optic identification, placement, termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting with test equipment.
Manage customer expectations through verbal and written communication and negotiations.
Knowledgeable in recognizing issues regarding codes and standards (e.g., plenum vs PVC, ISP/OSP terminal locations, lightning protection).
Perform site walk-throughs for projects (approx. $50k), compose a concise scope of work, list of assumptions, material list, and project estimate.
Review scopes of work (approx. $50k), lists of assumptions, and gross labor hour/dollar figures to create a complete project plan (daily and weekly individual and crew goals, tool requirements, safety plan, etc.).
Track individual/crew performance daily/weekly against schedule and budget, making personnel and schedule decisions accordingly.
