About The Position

The Data Architect will build and own the data foundation for the company, beginning with hands-on reporting and analysis and progressing to the design of a unified, modern data platform. The role reports to the Vice President of Information Technology and works closely with Finance, Sales, and Operations. Its work will be visible to and used by company leadership.

The position involves designing a unified data model, building and optimizing data pipelines, and creating scalable reporting solutions. The architect will help migrate reporting from Excel to Power BI and Microsoft Fabric and support the development of a centralized Lakehouse/Warehouse platform. This is a long-term ownership role in which the architect will continue to improve the systems and architecture they build.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or data architecture.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, transformations, and performance tuning; SQL Server experience is preferred.
• Hands-on Power BI experience, including data modeling and DAX.
• Advanced Excel skills, including ODBC-based reporting.
• Ability to learn complex data structures quickly and curiosity about understanding data characteristics.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Accountability for data accuracy and reliability.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or Synapse.
• ERP/CRM experience, especially with Dynamics GP or SalesPad.
• Dimensional modeling, including star schema, and ETL/ELT experience.
• Data warehousing, Lakehouse, or data governance experience.

Responsibilities

• Extract, analyze, and validate data from SQL Server databases, CMS applications, SalesPad, and Microsoft Dynamics GP.
• Design and implement a unified data model across business systems.
• Build and optimize data pipelines using SQL and modern data tools.
• Create dashboards and reports for Sales, Operations, Finance, and executive leadership.
• Replace manual, Excel-based reporting with automated, scalable solutions.
• Champion data quality, governance, and consistency.
• Translate business questions into technical solutions and recommend improvements to the data and analytics strategy.
