About The Position

The Data Analytics & Reporting Lead is Ascend Technologies’ central owner of data and analytics. The role establishes how data is understood, trusted, and used across the organization, connecting operational data to strategic outcomes through dashboards, models, and predictive tools. It works across teams and source systems and is intended to grow into a cross-functional thought-leadership function that helps teams operate effectively with clear, actionable data. Ascend uses a modern, cloud-based data and analytics environment, including technologies such as PostgreSQL, Azure, and Python, to support business intelligence, data integration, automation, and AI-enabled solutions. The environment emphasizes security, governance, and scalability. The role works alongside the Data & AI Architect and engineering partners and contributes to decisions about what gets built.

  • Hands-on experience with at least one major BI platform, such as Power BI, Tableau, or an equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with messy, multi-source data and produce clean, consistent analytical outputs.
  • Ability to manage workload independently, prioritize competing requests, and iterate toward high-quality outputs without close oversight.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, ServiceNow, Paylocity, or Sage Intacct data models.
  • Experience with dbt, Python, Claude or other AI tools, forecasting, or machine learning concepts.

  • Design and build executive-ready Power BI and Claude-built dashboards and reports for internal leadership and selected client-facing use, translating complex data into clear visual narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Partner with the Data & AI Architect on predictive models and forecasting tools that surface actionable insights, and report on Claude and AI usage to support governed use of Claude.
  • Work with leadership and cross-functional teams to surface reporting needs, define metrics, translate business requirements into scalable data models and dashboard specifications, and map workflows to identify opportunities for analytics.
  • Own the business-facing data dictionary and certified metrics, participate in the Data Governance Committee, and provide primary analytical requirements input to the central data infrastructure.
