About The Position

Wellabe is seeking an intern to join our Data & Analytics team for a 10-week paid internship from June 7th through August 13th, 2027. In this collaborative role, you will get a chance to learn important skills and gain professional experience by working on a variety of projects and learning from our team. You will participate in a well-rounded internship program with the opportunity to gain real world experience that supplements traditional classroom learning.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
Proficiency in Python (or R) and SQL
Understanding of statistics and core machine learning concepts
Familiarity with version control (e.g. Git)
Interest in developing and deploying models to production (cloud or MLOps experience is a plus)
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining technical work to non-technical audiences
Curiosity and eagerness to learn
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

Coursework, projects, or research applying machine learning to real-world problems
Interested in applying machine learning techniques in insurance
Experience with Databricks and familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP) or MLOps practices

Responsibilities

Build and evaluate machine learning and deep learning models for real business problems
Assist with taking models from experimentation into production
Use generative AI and large language models to enhance machine learning workflows and performance
Analyze and visualize business data to uncover insights that inform decisions
