About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Data Analyst for a 12+ month contract with a major financial institution. The position is located in McLean, Virginia, or Richmond, Virginia, and involves professional data analysis, programming, and project management in an AWS environment. The analyst evaluates and improves processes, performs system integration and data validation, manages project activities, and communicates status updates to stakeholders, including senior leadership. The role also uses Python to automate the creation of Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs containing charts and data tables.

Requirements

Approximately 5 years of overall experience.
At least 4 years of professional data analysis work experience.
At least 4 years of programming experience.
At least 5 years of experience with Python, SQL, or Spark, and Databricks.
At least 1 year of experience in Tableau or AWS QuickSight.
Proficiency in using and developing within AWS services.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience in people management or project management.
Experience creating project timelines and defining milestones and deliverables.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, including clear, concise, logical communication.
Customer-facing experience, including addressing stakeholder needs and providing real-time project status updates.
Previous experience working with a bank.
Ability to learn quickly and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Analyze processes and tests, identify gaps, and develop plans for resolution.
Perform system integration, data validation, and quality checks.
Manage project activities, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking notes, and following up on action items.
Report project status and communicate with stakeholders up to the Senior Director level.
Use Python to automate the creation of Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs with charts and data tables.
