About The Position

Rocket Money is hiring a Data Analyst to deepen its partnership with Operations and Customer Support. The role brings an evidence-based analytical perspective to operational problems by shaping measurement and reporting, leading investigations, and delivering actionable insights to improve member outcomes. Analysts work semi-embedded with cross-functional teams and collaborate with analytics engineering and data science to support product delivery, operations, finance, and marketing goals. The Data Analyst will own complex analytical work end-to-end, build relationships with operational leaders, and create scalable self-service analytics. The role also involves guiding stakeholders in the use of analytics, mentoring teammates, and managing initiative commitments with clear communication about scope, methods, limitations, and impact. The tech stack includes BigQuery, dbt, Looker, Amplitude, and Deepnote.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the organization.
  • Focus on ensuring analytics tools are accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Proactive, strategic engagement with internal clients rather than a ticket-taking approach.
  • Willingness to continue learning and take on challenging problems.
  • Regular use of AI to assist with work, alongside sound judgment about its trade-offs and when not to use it.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with operations leadership and cross-functional partners, communicate tradeoffs, manage expectations through ambiguity, and ensure analytics work is delivered at the right time.
  • Lead high-impact ad hoc analyses of operations data, identify opportunities or trends, and turn findings into recommendations that improve customer outcomes.
  • Create self-service analytics resources, including dashboards, metric definitions, reusable queries or notebooks, and documentation.
  • Find creative ways to apply analytics methods and tools to operations, and guide stakeholders in using them for decision-making.
  • Mentor teammates through reviews, feedback, and collaboration; balance analytical rigor with speed and escalate when broader alignment is needed.
