About The Position

Flock Freight is hiring a Data Analyst for its Business Analytics team to turn complex business questions into useful insights that improve decision-making across the organization. The role partners with teams including Sales, Account Management, Carrier Sales, and Operations. It is a hands-on, business-facing position focused on SQL, stakeholder collaboration, and practical problem-solving. The analyst will build and maintain reporting models and dashboards, manage ad hoc analysis requests, and translate business processes into reliable, actionable data. The role works closely with experienced analysts and engineers and offers opportunities to deepen technical expertise, develop business knowledge, and contribute to increasingly complex analytical projects.

Flock Freight is a U.S. Shared Truckload freight brokerage that uses patented, AI-powered pooling technology to combine shipments and improve cost efficiency, carrier earnings, and environmental impact. It has been a Certified B Corp since 2020.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, analytical, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Approximately 2–4 years of professional experience in data analytics, business analytics, or a related analytical role.
• Strong SQL proficiency, including independently writing complex queries using joins, common table expressions (CTEs), window functions, and other advanced SQL techniques.
• Experience building and maintaining dashboards, reporting models, and analytical solutions using tools such as Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including interpreting business requirements, investigating data, and translating findings into practical recommendations.
• Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, manage reporting requests, and communicate analytical findings.
• Proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet tools for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing requests, manage multiple deliverables, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using Python for data manipulation, reporting automation, or workflow improvements.
• Exposure to statistical analysis, data science libraries, or machine learning concepts.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Account Management, Carrier Sales, and other business teams to understand reporting needs, investigate challenges, and translate business questions into actionable analysis.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources.
• Build, maintain, and improve reporting models, dashboards, and analytical tools that provide visibility into business performance and operational workflows.
• Own and prioritize incoming analytics requests, balancing immediate business needs with accuracy, efficiency, and longer-term analytical priorities.
• Translate business processes and requirements into structured reporting logic to help teams categorize information, monitor performance, and improve workflows.
• Present findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and cross-functional partners to improve reporting consistency, data quality, and analytical processes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline recurring reports, automate manual workflows, and make data more accessible and useful.
