About The Position

The Data Analyst role involves supporting day-to-day data governance activities, data profiling, and standardization efforts. The position requires understanding how data is used in business operations, drafting definitions for business terms and data rules, and maintaining a business glossary. The analyst will also assist in standardizing data formats and cleaning up inconsistencies. This role is suitable for a detail-oriented individual with good analytical and communication skills, willing to learn and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or any related field.
  • Understanding of Group Insurance data domains
  • Basic understanding of data concepts (databases, tables, data types).
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
  • Exposure to SQL.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft tools (Teams, SharePoint, Excel) is helpful.
  • Detail-oriented with good analytical thinking.
  • Good communicator — able to ask the right questions and explain things clearly.
  • Willing to learn new tools and processes with guidance.
  • Organized, reliable, and comfortable working in a team.
  • Graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in data informatics or data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Run basic data profiling on datasets to check for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Document findings and flag data quality issues to the team.
  • Help prepare simple data quality reports for stakeholder review.
  • Learn and use Microsoft Purview to support day-to-day data governance activities.
  • Help register data assets and maintain entries in the data catalog.
  • Follow established governance processes and document steps.
  • Work with business teams to understand how data is used in their day-to-day operations.
  • Help draft clear definitions for business terms and basic data rules based on profiling results.
  • Keep the business glossary updated and organized.
  • Support efforts to standardize data formats, naming conventions, and values across systems.
  • Flag inconsistencies and coordinate with the team on clean-up activities.
  • Develop and manage small data informatics projects.
  • Ensure adherence to data informatics standards.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions.
  • Provide feedback to junior team members.
