Data Analyst

Solace
•$85,000 - $115,000

About The Position

Solace is a rapidly scaling, U.S.-based healthcare startup that connects patients with expert advocates. The Data Analyst will serve as the analytical partner to the Operations team, helping the company understand performance and efficiency across the patient journey and advocate workflows. The role will use data to identify operational gaps, support scaling, optimize workflows, and inform resource allocation across the company. The analyst will investigate how supply, demand, match quality, and reimbursement interact; build systems and dashboards that make important metrics accessible; and turn technical findings into practical recommendations for operational and executive audiences. The role also partners with Engineering on reliable data models and transformations and works with structured and semi-structured healthcare operational data. Applicants must be based in the United States.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of data analytics experience, including experience in healthcare operations such as health technology, provider, payer, or care delivery, where data informed operational decisions.
  • Understanding of healthcare operations, including care delivery, intake, scheduling, caseloads, service-level agreements, and common operational data issues.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including writing efficient, complex queries against cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.
  • Strong experience designing interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Comfort working with messy real-world data, including nested JSON and unstructured datasets.
  • Ability to analyze data to identify root causes and connect analytical work to business outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills, including explaining complex data concepts to operational, product, and executive audiences.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities, with a bias toward action.
  • Applicants must be based in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Hex or a similar notebook-based business intelligence tool; experience with Looker, Tableau, or Metabase is also valuable.
  • Experience with dbt and Git, including managing transformations, contributing to core data models, and working in version control.
  • Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement, claims, billing codes, or Medicare reimbursement.
  • Python or R skills for automation, statistical analysis, or forecasting.
  • Experience using data to streamline workflows and reduce manual overhead in an operations setting.
  • Use of AI to accelerate SQL and analysis, with the judgment to validate outputs against the data.

Responsibilities

  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies across the patient journey, including intake, matching, and active care, and within advocate workflows; translate findings into operational improvements.
  • Analyze advocate utilization, caseloads, and supply-and-demand balance to help Operations plan staffing ahead of growth.
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards in Hex that automate manual reporting and provide self-service access to key metrics for Operations, Product, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Partner with Engineering to maintain clean, reliable data models and refine SQL and dbt transformations.
  • Translate technical findings into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences, explaining trends and proposed actions to leadership.
  • Analyze structured and semi-structured data, including nested JSON and healthcare operational data.
