Data Analyst Senior
About The Position
As our Data Analytics Senior, you will help support and improve operational performance by providing data-driven insights and building tools that track key processes. In this role, you’ll work with teams across Operations such as Customer Care, Collections, and Revenue Management and partner with groups like Sales and Pricing to understand performance trends, track metrics, and support business decisions. You’ll work on performance reporting tools, help maintain and improve dashboards, and support analysis that leads to better processes and customer outcomes. You’ll also contribute to company-wide reporting efforts, helping translate complex data into clear, actionable takeaways for the business. This position is based in Houston, TX, and reports to the Senior Advisor, Operations Data Analytics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering. In lieu of a degree, we will accept a combination years of hands-on experience in business or operations-focused data
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a business or operations-focused data role
- Solid understanding of SQL (T-SQL or PL-SQL preferred) and experience working with relational databases
- Proficient in Power BI, including creating dashboards, using DAX, and working with Power Query
- Experience using Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting, with a preference for Power Query and Pivot Tables
- Knowledgeable in PowerPoint and able to present findings in a clear and professional manner
- Able to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and collaborate effectively with others
- Strong interest in learning and growing within the energy industry and data analytics space
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in retail energy or working with CRM data
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards that monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across Operations
- Use SQL, Power BI, and Excel to explore data, identify trends, and support decision-making
- Assist in the development and enhancement of existing reporting tools and systems
- Collaborate with teams across Operations and other departments to ensure shared understanding of performance goals and metrics
- Support ad hoc analysis requests and contribute to special projects as needed
- Help identify opportunities to improve processes or highlight risks using data insights
