This position is within the Regulatory Policy and Rates department, specifically in Economic Research. The role involves developing, testing, validating, and refining models to optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, operational effectiveness, marketing success, and other business outcomes. The analyst will also assist in developing and executing a strategic plan to advance the utilization and acceptance of data analytics with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include leading analytics workstreams, using business intelligence tools to create dashboards and reports, understanding relational database management systems, data modeling, and data warehousing. The role requires proficiency in programming languages for analytics modeling such as Python, R, or SAS, and assisting in the development of data warehousing solutions. The analyst will evaluate new system capabilities and push conventional thinking to drive change and innovation. Strong communication skills are essential for preparing written reports, analyzing and interpreting data, and maintaining effective working relationships. The position also involves assisting in performing peak load, energy sales, and customer forecasting functions, analyzing information, preparing forecast reports, and meeting deadlines. A willingness to share technology and specialized knowledge with the team is important. The role requires attending training seminars and classes. Essential job functions include leading the design and support of BI applications and architecture utilizing Microsoft Power BI, managing project workstreams, collaborating with business leaders to identify and track key metrics, mining large data sets for actionable insights, locating new data sources, and implementing quality procedures. The analyst will leverage tools like R, Power BI, Python, and SQL for statistical modeling, identify gaps and process improvement opportunities, and present solutions. Crafting visually engaging data delivery solutions such as dashboards and reports is also a key function. Knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts is required. The role involves preparing, auditing, and coordinating monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, schedules, and exhibits, consistent with regulatory filing requirements. Preparing testimony and exhibits for regulatory filings and responding to information requests are also part of the duties. The analyst will coordinate the acquisition and maintenance of financial, load research, and cost-of-service data, interpret Company tariffs, and instruct others on their use. Designing rates for existing and proposed rate classes, calculating jurisdictional and class revenue requirements, and performing jurisdictional and class cost of service studies are also included. Performing short-term and long-term revenue projections and variance analysis, as well as research and analysis for applicable rate structures that comply with regulatory mandates and Company objectives, are key responsibilities. Assisting with special projects, complying with Company policies and governmental regulations, conducting data analyses supporting weather normalization of energy sales, derivation of load factors, and calculating demand components are also part of the role. Leading the development of programming code to automate reporting requirements and assisting in review and audits to ensure data accuracy are also essential.
