About The Position

CGI is hiring a Houston-based Senior Consultant in Data & AI Strategy and Delivery to help clients turn business, data, and AI opportunities into actionable strategies, delivery plans, and implemented solutions. The role bridges business needs, technical teams, and executive stakeholders across data, analytics, Generative AI, artificial intelligence, and broader business transformation. It is primarily functional, strategic, and client-facing rather than a software engineering or data science position, and may involve work as a business analyst, project manager, program manager, product owner, functional consultant, or workstream lead. The consultant will support CGI’s Data & AI and Business Consulting growth in the Houston market by shaping opportunities, leading workstreams, developing RFP responses, gathering requirements, defining scope and delivery plans, and coordinating business and technical teams. Business Consulting work may include operating model design, workforce assessments, organizational transformation, process improvement, capability assessments, and strategic planning. Candidates must be based in the Houston area and willing to work an average of three days per week from the CGI Houston office and/or a client site; travel may be required as needed. The role requires strong consulting and functional delivery skills, technical fluency in data and AI, and clear communication with both executive and technical audiences. Requirements

Three to seven years of experience in consulting, technology, data, analytics, AI, project delivery, business analysis, product management, program management, organizational transformation, or a related field.
Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, computer science, data analytics, engineering, project management, organizational development, or a related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Executive presence and the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with senior business and technology leaders.
Ability to explain complex business, data, and AI concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience supporting or leading data, analytics, AI, technology transformation, digital transformation, or Business Consulting initiatives.
Experience gathering requirements, defining scope, documenting processes, developing user stories, establishing milestones, and supporting solution delivery.
Experience in roles such as business analyst, project manager, program manager, product owner, functional consultant, strategy consultant, management consultant, or delivery lead.
Ability to translate business objectives into structured requirements, project plans, operating models, assessments, solution concepts, recommendations, and measurable outcomes.
Ability to lead workstreams and manage deliverables with limited day-to-day direction.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, competing deadlines, changing requirements, and ambiguous assignments.
Experience preparing and presenting executive-level presentations, recommendations, status updates, roadmaps, assessments, or business cases.
Strong analytical thinking, structured problem solving, business judgment, organization, attention to detail, and consultative capability.
Experience coordinating across business stakeholders, technical teams, architects, developers, data professionals, vendors, and leadership.
Working knowledge of data platforms, analytics, AI/ML, Generative AI, large language models, retrieval augmented generation, agents, automation, cloud services, and enterprise technology environments.
Understanding of the distinctions among strategy, assessment, proof of concept, pilot, MVP, production implementation, and enterprise-scale deployment.
Ability to discuss solution benefits, limitations, dependencies, risks, organizational impacts, and trade-offs accurately and confidently.
Experience leading or significantly contributing to RFPs, RFIs, proposals, statements of work, or sales pursuits.
Ability to structure and draft proposal responses independently while obtaining targeted input from technical and consulting subject matter experts.
Experience creating client-facing deliverables using tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
Must be based in the Houston area and willing to work from the CGI Houston office and/or client locations an average of three days per week.
Ability to travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Support development of data, analytics, Generative AI, and AI strategies aligned with clients’ business priorities and transformation objectives.
Identify, assess, and prioritize data and AI use cases based on business value, feasibility, risk, readiness, and expected outcomes.
Translate business challenges into initiatives, roadmaps, workstreams, and delivery plans; facilitate discovery workshops, strategy sessions, and stakeholder interviews.

Support business consulting engagements involving operating model design, workforce assessments, organizational transformation, process improvement, and capability development.
Assess current-state organizations, processes, roles, governance, skills, tools, and operating practices; help define future-state models and implementation roadmaps.
Conduct interviews, workshops, surveys, document reviews, and data analysis to identify needs, gaps, risks, and opportunities.
Translate assessment findings into prioritized recommendations, implementation plans, process maps, responsibility matrices, capability frameworks, and executive presentations.
Support change management, stakeholder alignment, communications, training, and adoption planning.
Gather, document, analyze, and validate business, functional, data, and technical requirements.
Translate business needs into user stories, process flows, use cases, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and delivery backlogs.
Define project scope, objectives, dependencies, assumptions, milestones, deliverables, and success measures; help stakeholders understand priorities and trade-offs.
Act as a liaison among business stakeholders, product owners, architects, data engineers, data scientists, AI engineers, developers, and project leadership.
Support user acceptance testing, solution validation, rollout planning, change management, training, adoption, documentation, decision records, and requirements traceability.
Lead or support workstreams from discovery and planning through implementation, deployment, and adoption.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, status reports, risk and issue logs, action trackers, and stakeholder communication plans.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage dependencies and deliverables, and identify and communicate delivery risks, scope concerns, resource constraints, and timeline impacts.
Facilitate project meetings, executive updates, technical discussions, working sessions, and decision forums; track progress against milestones and expected outcomes.
Support Agile, hybrid, and traditional delivery models and help move initiatives from concepts into pilots, MVPs, production solutions, and implemented recommendations.
Present strategies, findings, solution concepts, recommendations, delivery updates, and outcomes to technical and executive audiences.
Build trusted relationships with clients, prospects, CGI leaders, and delivery teams; prepare polished client-facing presentations, proposals, roadmaps, reports, and communications.
Lead or coordinate RFP, RFI, proposal, and sales pursuit responses for Data & AI and Business Consulting services.
Develop response strategies, content outlines, work plans, and submission schedules; draft proposal content and coordinate subject matter expert input and reviews.
Translate technical and consulting capabilities into business narratives, differentiators, value propositions, delivery approaches, and client outcomes.
Present proposed approaches to prospective clients and support solution shaping, estimating, staffing, scoping, and transition planning.
Contribute reusable proposal content, presentations, case studies, accelerators, methodologies, and go-to-market assets.
Apply working knowledge of data, analytics, machine learning, Generative AI, and AI solution patterns; communicate with technical teams about data, integrations, architecture, security, model behavior, performance, and operations.
Support responsible AI, data governance, privacy, cybersecurity, compliance, and human-in-the-loop considerations in project planning and delivery.
Stay current on data and AI developments and translate relevant trends into practical client conversations and recommendations.
