About The Position

Hyundai's North America Quality Center (NAQC) is looking for a Data Administrator for the Quality Support Systems Team. NAQC is the quality arm for Hyundai Motor Group (HMG)'s North American vehicle models. NAQC seeks to further Hyundai's goal of becoming the leading automotive manufacturer in North America by delivering uncompromising quality and exceeding consumer expectations. The Data Administrator would be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of an organization's data and databases, and managing and maintaining the integrity, performance, and security of an organization’s data and database systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 2+ years of database administration experience
  • Strong understanding of DBMS (SQL Server)
  • Proficiency in SQL (queries, joins, stored procedures)
  • Experience with database backup and recovery
  • Skills in performance tuning and query optimization
  • Understanding of database security (access control, encryption)
  • Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery (replication, failover)
  • Ability to install, configure, and maintain databases
  • Familiarity with data modeling and database design
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for ETL processes
  • Experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) for reporting and dashboards

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Set up data back up system and implement data restore plan
  • Extract and transform data to proper format depending on the data analysis needs
  • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
  • Ensure all database programs meet the company and performance requirements.
  • Research and suggest new database products, services, and protocols.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
