About The Position

AIG is seeking a Data Quality Issue Management & Remediation (IMR) Analyst to drive data quality improvement across the organization. This role is crucial for ensuring high-quality, well-governed data, which is foundational to serving clients, managing risk, and meeting regulatory obligations. The IMR Analyst will be responsible for capturing, understanding, prioritizing, and resolving data issues with discipline. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to senior leadership across business, technology, risk, and compliance functions. The analyst will drive the end-to-end data issue lifecycle for a specific region, partnering with data owners, technology teams, business stakeholders, and risk and compliance functions to ensure data issues are resolved in a structured, timely, and auditable manner consistent with the enterprise data governance framework. The role will serve as the regional anchor for issues affecting North and Latin American business lines, with a focus on regulatory-driven data issues, financial reporting data, customer data, and cross-border data flows. This role also works closely with regional business partners and global IMR leads in EMEA and APAC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, operational risk, or audit, with demonstrated involvement in issue management or remediation.
  • Working knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK), data quality dimensions, and data lineage concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with issue/workflow tooling such as ServiceNow, Collibra, Informatica Data Management Cloud, or equivalent platforms.
  • Basic analytical skills with the ability to investigate or guide investigation of data issues across systems, transformations, and reporting layers.
  • Proficiency in SQL and the ability to navigate large datasets for investigation and validation purposes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences and produce executive-ready reporting.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing without direct authority across business and technology functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, insurance, healthcare, or another regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to data (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR, CCPA, SOX, regional data privacy laws).
  • Certifications such as CDMP, DCAM, or equivalent data management credentials.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data architecture patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary regional point of contact for data issues raised by business, technology, operations, and control functions.
  • Log, classify, and prioritize issues in the enterprise IMR tooling, ensuring complete metadata, severity rating, and impact assessment.
  • Validate that submitted issues are well-defined, reproducible, and supported by sufficient evidence before progressing them through the workflow.
  • Facilitate collaboration to improve understanding of issues' underlying cause and impact to the organization by connecting data owners, stewards, subject-matter experts, and technology partners to identify upstream sources, control gaps, and contributing factors.
  • Support Data Stewards and Data Owners in driving progress on IMR cases.
  • Ensure documentation of findings, short-term workarounds, and long-term remediation plans are completed to standard with stakeholder sign-off on agreed actions.
  • Support the analysis of remediation options against cost, risk reduction, regulatory impact, and time-to-resolution.
  • Track remediation milestones, dependencies, and target dates; proactively escalating slippage, blockers, or scope changes to leadership and governance forums.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready records of issue status, decisions, approvals, and evidence in line with the data governance policy and regulatory expectations.
  • Validate closure criteria, confirm that root causes have been addressed, and obtain formal sign-off from accountable owners before closing issues.
  • Produce IMR dashboards, KPI/KRI reporting, and trend analysis for senior stakeholders, governance committees, and audit/regulatory reviews.
  • Identify recurring themes, systemic weaknesses, and opportunities to strengthen data quality controls, and feed insights into the broader data strategy.
  • Build strong working relationships with data owners, stewards, technology leads, operations, risk, compliance, and audit partners across the region.
  • Support the continuous improvement of IMR procedures, templates, taxonomies, and tooling to improve efficiency, consistency, and user experience.
  • Coach and support business and technology teams on issue articulation, evidence collection, and remediation best practices.
  • Contribute to global IMR working groups to ensure regional consistency with enterprise standards while reflecting local nuances.
