About The Position

Blue Sky Innovators, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced DARPA Systems Engineer with a TS/SCI clearance. This role involves overseeing the creation of hybrid software, web, and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. The engineer will integrate various network operating systems, application programs, and hardware devices, considering overall project design including cost, schedule, and social issues. A significant portion of the experience must be supporting Department of Defense (DoD) research and development (R&D) programs, demonstrating the ability to conceive, plan, and conduct complex research, make independent decisions, and apply advanced techniques in specific functional areas.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of IT professional experience overseeing the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance.
  • Experience integrating various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices through system specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance support.
  • Experience considering overall project design including cost, schedule, and social issues that may be associated with a project.
  • At least seven (7) years of experience supporting research and development (R&D) Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
  • Skill in conceiving, planning and conducting research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity requiring unconventional or novel approaches and sophisticated research techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently on research and development (R&D) engineering problems and methods, and to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of advanced techniques, theories, precepts, and practices for each lead of the four functional areas (Intelligence and Mission Capabilities, Architecture, Applications, and Mission Integration).
  • Each functional area lead shall have at least five (5) years extensive experience, background and knowledge of the corresponding functional area.
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Nice To Haves

  • At least three (3) years of experience working in DARPA or similar organization is highly desirable.
  • Masters degree
