About The Position

This position involves being fluent in all dark meat debone production work on a rotation basis. These jobs include: hanger, trimmers, styler, bone trimmer, box liner, scale operator, CVP operator, labeler, and stackers. The role requires performing these positions in the dark meat department, participating as a member of the team, and adhering to Simmons Operating systems principles. The position also involves performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Requirements

  • Must be able to operate scale operator and labeler with provided training material (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work in a cold environment that ranges between 34-40 degrees.
  • Ability to work standing up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Hearing protection, protective eyewear, hair net/beard net, liners, smock, gloves, slip-resistant footwear and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience working around machinery.
  • Working knowledge of a food processing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the various jobs in the dark meat department on a rotation basis (hanger, trimmers, styler, bone trimmer, box liner, scale operator, CVP operator, labeler, stackers).
  • Participates as a member of the Team, fostering cohesiveness and resolving issues.
  • Maintains familiarity with Simmons’ established operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN) and understands the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
