About The Position

The Amherst-Pelham Regional School District is currently seeking highly-qualified candidates for the position of part-time Dance Teacher for Amherst Regional Schools, grades 9-12. This is a .67 FTE position. We seek candidates with experience engaging, inspiring, and educating a widely diverse student body. Candidates must possess a working knowledge of different methodologies to support the success of all students.

Requirements

• Degree in dance or equivalent experience in the field
• Massachusetts Teacher License in K-12 dance
• If not holding a Massachusetts Teacher License in K-12 dance, actively engaged in a prep program and registered to take the MTELS in September/October 2026
• Experience engaging, inspiring, and educating a widely diverse student body
• Working knowledge of different methodologies to support the success of all students

Responsibilities

• Manage the dance program’s materials, spaces, and schedules
• Collaborate with other members of the performing arts department
• Maintain working relationships with the Five College Dance Department and local dance studios
• Produce high-quality performances for a variety of venues
• Offer in-person and remote experiences in dance through field trips, master classes with guest artists, and opportunities to expand their understanding of the field
• Develop the school's dance program through the lenses of community-building, equity, inclusion, and access for all students
• Differentiate their teaching to meet every student’s needs
