About The Position

Innova Girls Academy Charter School is seeking a Dance Teacher to deliver high-quality, age-appropriate movement instruction to students in grades K-5. The role involves internalizing and customizing prepared dance curriculum, assessing student growth, and creating an inclusive studio culture. The teacher will model Innova's CREATE values, build confidence and discipline through dance, and cultivate positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Collaboration with the instructional team to connect dance concepts to broader academic learning and participation in school-wide events are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

College Diploma in relevant course of study and/or work experience to demonstrate expertise in K-5 grade education.
NYS Teaching Certification or working towards attaining such certification.

Responsibilities

Internalize and customize prepared dance curriculum to deliver high-quality, age-appropriate movement instruction to students in grades K–5 on a regular basis.
Assess and document student growth in dance skills and artistic development; adjust instructional approach at the class-wide, small group, and individual level in response to student progress.
Create an inclusive, joyful studio culture that honors each student's individual learning style while maintaining high expectations for participation, effort, and respect.
Model and reinforce Innova's CREATE values through dance instruction, using the art form as a vehicle for building confidence, discipline, and collaboration in young learners.
Cultivate positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues; communicate regularly with parents and classroom teachers to support the whole child.
Collaborate with the instructional team to connect dance concepts to broader academic learning and contribute to school-wide performances, events, and community showcases.
