Part-Time Dance Instructor/Choreographer
About The Position
DivaDance is seeking a part-time Dance Instructor/Choreographer to teach pop-music inspired, choreography-based dance classes. This role involves creating original choreography for classes, performances, video shoots, workshops, and parties. The ideal candidate will have a big personality, experience teaching and choreographing for adults, and be highly responsive. Requirements
- Experience teaching adults.
- Experience creating choreography for adults.
- Super responsive via phone/text.
- Reliable transportation to class locations.
- Must submit a video of original choreography with the application.
- Must complete the online Instructor Development Program.
- Must take 3 DivaDance classes prior to the Instructor Training Program.
Nice To Haves
- Former dance team, drill team, or cheerleader experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach original choreography to clients for DivaDance classes, set to popular music.
- Create choreography for performances, video shoots, workshops, and parties.
- Guide performers through rehearsals for events.
- Coach performers during events without performing alongside them.
- Complete the online Instructor Development Program before teaching.
- Attend 3 DivaDance classes prior to beginning the Instructor Training Program.
- Prepare for classes by arriving 20 minutes early.
- Communicate vacation time and schedule adjustments at least 6 weeks in advance.
- Potentially swap classes with DivaDance staff to cover shifts if needed.
