About The Position

RECONN is seeking Damage Prevention Technicians to join their team, focusing on quality and safety in the utility industry. This full-time position serves the Albany, Cohoes, Latham, and Troy areas in New York. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations during excavations, including calling Dig Safely NY for utility mark-outs and adhering to CR753 guidelines. Technicians will work with contractors, provide guidance on corrective actions, and reinforce positive safety practices. A background in construction and utility industries, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, basic computer functions, data entry, and smartphone use, is required. Daily equipment inspection and work planning are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
• Must be able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Proficiency with technology.

Nice To Haves

• One-year experience locating gas assets preferred.
• Outdoor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Dig Safely NY is called for utility mark-out and responded to accordingly.
• Ensure the scope of work with machinery is in accordance with CR753 while excavation is being performed.
• Work with contractors on CR 753 daily.
• Advise on corrective actions when necessary.
• Reinforce positively when a proper dig occurs.
• Inspect equipment daily.
• Perform daily work planning.
