About The Position

The Dairy Supervisor performs dairy department responsibilities while working with and reporting to the Grocery Manager. The role assists in directing department operations, including supervising and training personnel, ordering and managing merchandise, maintaining product and backroom standards, and supporting grocery department operations. The position promotes enthusiastic customer awareness and safe, friendly, courteous service, and may provide backup cashier coverage. The job involves frequent physical activity, including lifting and maneuvering items weighing up to approximately 80 pounds, using hand trucks and pallet jacks, standing and walking for long periods, and working in cold storage areas. It is a safety-sensitive position.

Ability to climb ladders may be required.
Mental alertness to complete work safely and accurately, including repetitive work.
Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to learn inventory control, pricing, merchandising, and shipping and receiving procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist the Grocery Manager in directing Dairy Department operations, including supervising and training personnel.
Assist with ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory control, and building displays.
Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness, emphasizing safe, friendly, and courteous service.
Use suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
Assist the Grocery Manager in planning and organizing regular and seasonal merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
Rotate and face products; clean and dust shelves; process and discard outdated or spoiled products; and prevent the sale of out-of-code products.
Order Dairy merchandise.
Train, teach, and coach dairy stocking and conditioning standards.
Assist with dry grocery order writing, grocery stocking and conditioning, new items, and the reclamation process.
Manage backroom inventory, conditions, and standards.
Assist with grocery department merchandising and building displays.
May act as a backup cashier.
Comply with Company policies, including attendance, grooming standards, and dress codes.
