About The Position

The Dairy Supervisor performs dairy department responsibilities while working with and reporting to the Grocery Manager. The role assists with directing department operations, supervising and training personnel, ordering and managing merchandise, maintaining inventory and backroom standards, stocking and merchandising products, and supporting grocery department activities. It also promotes safe, friendly, courteous customer service and may provide backup cashier coverage. The position requires frequent physical activity, including lifting and maneuvering items up to approximately 80 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and working in cold storage areas. The role may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying indoor and outdoor temperatures. This is a safety-sensitive position because its duties could affect the safety or health of the employee or others.

Ability to stand, walk, and move rapidly for long periods; frequently bend, stoop, twist, and turn; and potentially climb ladders.
Mental alertness to complete work safely and accurately, including repetitive tasks.
Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to learn inventory control, pricing, merchandising, and shipping and receiving procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist the Grocery Manager in directing Dairy Department operations, including supervising and training personnel.
Assist with ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory control, and building displays.
Promote enthusiastic customer awareness and safe, friendly, courteous service; use suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
Assist the Grocery Manager with planning regular and seasonal merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
Rotate and face products; clean and dust shelves; process and discard outdated or spoiled products; and prevent the sale of out-of-code products.
Order Dairy merchandise.
Train, teach, and coach employees on dairy stocking and conditioning standards.
Assist with dry grocery order writing, grocery stocking and conditioning, new items, reclamation, and grocery department merchandising and displays.
Manage backroom inventory, conditions, and standards.
May act as a backup cashier.
Comply with Company policies, including attendance, grooming standards, and dress codes.
