About The Position

This position drives a gasoline- or diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination from base to established destinations. The role includes moving and handling products and trailers, coordinating equipment use with Warehouse Management, inspecting and documenting vehicle condition, and maintaining required driver logs. The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as department demands require.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a Class A CDL.
• Must have one year of driving experience and a clean driving record for the past 39 months.
• Must be flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by department demands.
• Must be able to read and communicate in English sufficiently to converse with the general public and respond to official inquiries.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload and pick up specified products at predetermined docks, yards, or warehouses.
• Fuel the tractor and trailers upon return to base and unhook trailers at specified locations.
• Coordinate with Warehouse Management on equipment prioritization and utilization.
• Inspect the truck for defects before and after shifts and submit a report indicating the truck’s condition.
• Check loads after loading to verify adequate use of load locks, straps, and bulkheads.
• Maintain a driver log according to D.O.T. regulations.
• Collect or pick up empty cases and ice cream racks, or rejected or unsold products, when required.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
