About The Position

Select Sires is currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Dairy Sire Marketing Intern. This temporary full-time, hourly, non-exempt position is at our Plain City, OH facility and reports to the Sr. Vice-President of Genetic Programs and Research, Chuck Sattler. Specific duties and responsibilities of a Dairy Sire Marketing Intern include, but are not limited to, Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values. Assist the sire department with gathering information and maintaining data to prepare bulls for their marketing career. Assist the marketing department with preparing cattle for photography, including selecting, clipping, grooming, and fitting cattle. Carry out a project to provide insight about bull development or a bull’s future marketing capabilities. A Dairy Sire Marketing Intern's work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Work schedules and duties are subject to change to meet departmental needs.

Requirements

Reliable means of transportation to report to work on time
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Willingness to travel overnight
A positive attitude with a passion for learning
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Enrollment in a post-secondary dairy science, animal science, agricultural business or other related area of study

Nice To Haves

A working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
Familiarity with dairy cattle pedigrees and genetic evaluations
Experience clipping dairy cattle
