About The Position

Select Sires, Inc. is seeking candidates to join our team as a Dairy Sire Development and Marketing Intern. This temporary full-time, hourly, non-exempt position is at our Plain City, OH facility and reports to the Sr. Vice-President of Genetic Programs and Research, Chuck Sattler. The internship involves serving as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values, assisting the sire department with gathering information and maintaining data to prepare bulls for their marketing career, and assisting the marketing department with preparing cattle for photography. Interns will also carry out a project to provide insight about bull development or a bull’s future marketing capabilities. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, and is subject to change to meet departmental needs. Requirements

  • Reliable means of transportation to report to work on time
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Willingness to travel overnight
  • A positive attitude with a passion for learning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Enrollment in a post-secondary dairy science, animal science, agricultural business or other related area of study

Nice To Haves

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Familiarity with dairy cattle pedigrees and genetic evaluations
  • Experience clipping dairy cattle

Responsibilities
