About The Position

The Dairy Plant Automation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of automation systems within the plant. This includes programming and troubleshooting automated control systems, utilizing electrical schematic designs, and providing technical support. The role also involves training associates on automation equipment, managing routine maintenance, and executing process improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and quality. The supervisor is expected to uphold company policies, ethical standards, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and belonging.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Professional certification in engineering, technology, or related field.
  • 1 year's experience in maintenance or related field.
  • 2 years’ experience PLC/Robot Programming.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field.
  • Maintenance or control automation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
  • Programs and troubleshoots automated control systems (e.g., integration, electronics, robotics, fiber optic sensors, pneumatic/hydraulic controls, touch panels, programmable logic controllers, human-machine interface).
  • Utilizes on-line and electrical schematic designs, electrical equipment, controls, instrumentations, and configurations (e.g., pump, Variable Frequency Drive, Allen Bradley Factory Talk, Siemens BR brand controllers, and systems).
  • Provides on-call, remote, and on-site technical support for automation equipment.
  • Trains associates on the operation and repair of automation equipment.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Manages the daily operations of automation systems by performing routine maintenance of instruments and controls utilized to process materials from raw states to finished products.
  • Upgrades and replaces components and control systems.
  • Continuously monitors all operations processes.
  • Identifies operational malfunctions and corrects malfunctions as needed.
  • Completes work orders, records logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.
  • Supports plant operation, quality, and continuous improvement programs (e.g., Break Down Analysis, Break Down Deployments).
  • Executes process improvement projects by identifying customer and operational needs, identifying performance standards, measuring progress, and adjusting performance accordingly.
  • Develops contingency plans.
