About The Position

The Dairy & Frozen Assistant Department Manager is a full-time position at Stauffers of Kissel Hill’s Lititz Pike Fresh Foods location. The role requires flexible availability for day, evening, and weekend shifts. It is a working-manager position responsible for supporting smooth department operations and assuming the Department Manager’s responsibilities when necessary. The assistant manager coordinates invoices and transfers, maintains departmental equipment, supports merchandising and pricing, trains and assigns team members, and helps manage inventories and ordering.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be regularly able to work in or around coolers and be exposed to cold temperatures.
• Must have flexible availability for day, evening, and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Be ready and able to assume the Department Manager’s responsibilities when necessary.
• Coordinate vendor invoices, SKH invoices, and inter-company transfers daily to ensure timely billing.
• Perform the tasks necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the division as a working manager.
• Maintain and operate departmental equipment.
• Develop game plans and planograms for department merchandising in conjunction with the Buying team.
• Train team members in store policies, department procedures, product knowledge, and job duties so they work productively and safely.
• Assign duties to team members and schedule breaks, work hours, and vacations based on business needs and upcoming store events.
• Understand retail label systems and communicate with Scan, General Management, and/or Buying teams to ensure correct pricing.
• Supervise and conduct departmental inventories to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
• Communicate with Buying and GM teams about merchandising, new product implementation, and appropriate pricing, and promptly follow directions.
• Maintain knowledge of current inventories and ordering systems to assist with ordering supplies and merchandise from approved vendors.
