About The Position
The Salemwood School is the largest and most diverse K-8 school in the City of Malden with over 1100 students with over sixty languages spoken. We are proud of our Sheltered English Immersion and English Learners program, where students can share their culture with each other while also learning and improving their English language development. The academic, social, and emotional success of our students is our top priority and central focus. This year, we embraced the PBIS initiative that focused on positive behavior management. Students were recognized for being Safe, Helpful, Attentive, Respectful, and Kind (S.H.A.R.K.). Salemwood has been able to triumph over many obstacles put in our place, so with that, we adopted the Shark as our mascot because like the shark, Salemwood is always moving forward.

Responsibilities
- Follows the teacher’s written lesson plans.
- Consults with the principal and/or staff to resolve questions and/or concerns.
- Complies with all building procedures and schedules.
- Prepares a written summary of work completed.
- Makes the absent teacher aware of special situations or problems encountered.
- Implements effective pupil management procedures.
- Maintains a positive learning environment.
- Follows all policies, rules and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
