Daily Math Tutor - 20 to 25 hours per week
About The Position
Mathnasium of Oak Park/River Forest is hiring a Daily Math Tutor to provide instruction and tutoring to students. Tutors use the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices; evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework; collaborate with team members; and assist with non-instructional tasks as needed. The center provides training in its teaching practices and describes the work environment as supportive, encouraging, energetic, and fun. The role is listed as 20 to 25 hours per week, with afternoon and evening hours Monday through Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. and weekend options.
Requirements
- Passion for math and working with students.
- Strong math skills through a minimum of Algebra.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and be trained.
- Pass a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional instruction and tutoring services to students.
- Teach using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices.
- Evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver the best possible experience for students.
- Assist with non-teaching and non-instructional tasks as needed.
