About The Position

The Cytotechnologist position is responsible for examining cells under a microscope to detect abnormalities and potential diseases. This role involves meticulous analysis and accurate reporting to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.

Requirements

Certification as a Cytotechnologist (ASCP or equivalent).
Associate's degree in Cytotechnology or a related science field.
Experience in cytological screening and analysis.
Proficiency in microscopy and laboratory techniques.
Knowledge of relevant medical terminology and disease processes.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or a related field.
Experience with ThinPrep or other liquid-based cytology methods.
Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS).

Responsibilities

Examine cellular material under a microscope to detect abnormalities and potential diseases.
Analyze and interpret cellular findings.
Prepare and stain slides for microscopic examination.
Document findings accurately and efficiently.
Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals.
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and quality standards.
