About The Position

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) is seeking a Cytotechnologist I for their Oklahoma City, OK location. This position involves the microscopic examination of gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides for abnormal cellular changes. The role requires adherence to state and federal regulations, maintaining workload and quality assurance records, and providing backup for cytology processing. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in biological science, completion of an accredited Cytology program, ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification, and relevant morphology certifications. Flexibility in working extra days/weekends and the ability to sit for long periods are also necessary.

Requirements

• Meet CLIA requirements (CFR.493.1483).
• Meet state licensure requirements, if applicable.
• Meet ASCP requirements for Cytotechnologist
• Graduated from an accredited Cytology program
• ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time as there is minimal job rotation with this position.
• Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

• Liquid-based morphology certification: ThinPrep, TIS Review Scope, Surepath, and Focal Point.
• A Hologic Genius certification is highly desirable for this position, although not required.

• Maintains appropriate workload and quality assurance records.
• Provide backup for cytology processing and other tasks as needed.
