The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking an academically oriented Cytogenetics / Genomics (“Cytogenomics”) Laboratory Director with 2 to 10+ years of experience. This faculty member will participate in a busy laboratory service, including constitutional and somatic testing, utilizing methodologies such as cytogenetics, FISH, SNP microarray, and NGS. The role requires proficiency in data review and interpretation for precision oncology and clinical genetics. The successful candidate will have experience in developing, validating, and implementing new molecular genomic and genetic tests within a CAP-accredited laboratory. Responsibilities include fostering collaborations with clinicians and researchers, serving as a resource to technologists, instructing medical students, and participating in the training of pathology residents and fellows. The candidate will play a key educational role in the ACGME-accredited fellowship training program in Molecular Genetic Pathology and collaborate closely with Surgical Pathology and Hematopathology teams.
