About The Position

Airgas is hiring a Cylinder Requalifier in Charlestown, NH. This role provides general assistance in the plant, including painting cylinders, valve/de-valve cylinders, general cylinder movement and handling throughout the plant, and loading trucks. The Cylinder Requalifier may operate a forklift. This position coordinates the movement of gas cylinders and/or other products onto and off of route trucks and trailers, navigating cylinders safely with proper carts. It involves rolling cylinders and utilizing a forklift truck for efficient inventory movement, organizing empty cylinders by type to maintain an efficient workflow, and assisting with inventory by checking cylinder quantities, styles, and products. The role also includes reviewing customer orders and preparing items from inventory to ensure trucks are ready for delivery. Additionally, the Cylinder Requalifier contributes to basic cylinder maintenance, such as painting and labeling, and helps maintain a clean, professional work area. A strong commitment to personal health and safety is essential, as is contributing to a safe and healthy work environment by diligently following safety guidelines and promptly reporting any accidents or injuries. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Willingness to learn and become knowledgeable of hazards associated with high pressure cylinder tanks.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
  • Ability to perform very heavy work—routinely lift 25 to 75 lb., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lb.
  • Also required to push and pull liquid containers weighing up to 1000 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion required.
  • Ability to perform work which includes routine climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and finger activities including the tightening of ratchet binders.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating a forklift and pallet jack is preferred.
  • Ability to safely drive a forklift.
