Cylinder Attendant - (3rd Shift)
About The Position
Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking a Cylinder Attendant for its 3rd shift operations. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefit package. The Cylinder Attendant will assist Treating Engineers by preparing lumber for treatment, changing out charges, performing quality control, and other assigned duties. Responsibilities include operating the transfer deck, boring material samples with a drill, and preparing lumber for treatment using a banding tool and tag gun. The role also involves monitoring trams and production of cylinders to ensure efficient material flow, performing housekeeping and clean-up in the cylinder and tram area, assisting with spill clean-up, and aiding in month-end inventory activities.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Lumber experience a plus!
Responsibilities
- Assists Treating Engineers by preparing lumber to be treated, changing out charges, quality control, and other duties as assigned
- Uses controls to operate the transfer deck.
- Uses drill to bore material samples.
- Uses banding tool and tag gun to prepare lumber for treatment.
- Monitors trams and production of cylinders to ensure efficient flow of material through equipment.
- Prepares lumber for treatment.
- Performs housekeeping and clean-up around cylinder and tram area.
- Assists in picking up lumber and other materials due to spills as requested by Supervisor.
- Assists in month-end inventory activities.
